[box] Could Troy Aikman be downsizing or has the Dallas housing market entered a ‘boom phase’? These are just a few of the questions that are now circulating since the Pro Football Hall of Famer placed his elaborate estate in the hands of eager realtors.[/box]
This 10,520 sq. ft. home has enough space to house the entire Dallas Cowboys’ football team even though there are only 5 bedrooms and 6 full baths. The family room alone measures 800 square feet, or nearly the size of a small home. A savvy new owner could convert the fitness room or home theater room into extra bedrooms in a pinch.
Aikman still owns the most expensive home in Dallas, but an impending divorce could be forcing his hand, especially when you consider that ‘touchdown’ asking price of $24 million.

Although there are no available records to show the original sale price it must have been a ‘Hail Mary’ pass because the wealthy Aikmans had to apply for a $7 million dollar mortgage in addition to the hefty chunk of change they paid out of pocket.
Surprisingly this enormous home with swimming pool, outdoor entertainment area and guest house was not the original structure that Troy and Rhonda Aikman purchased in 2004. That very nice house was bulldozed to the ground because the lovebirds felt that they deserved a completely new love nest.
Now, less than 10 years later this elaborate and overworked mansion is being offered for sale at a premium price. It is doubtful that anyone is going to pay the full asking price, but you can never underestimate the power of the Aikman cachet-especially among the ‘diehard’ fans of the Dallas Cowboys.
