[box] Taylor Swift must have a case of real estate fever, as the young songstress has laid claim to three luxurious houses over the course of the last six months. One for herself located in Beverly Hills and a pair for her adoring parents in Nashville Tennessee, one of which is back on the market.[/box]
Taylor Swift, country-singing phenom, has been active in the real estate game recently. Back in April of 2011, she bought another home in Beverly Hills for $3.975 million, a mere fraction of her reported $45 million earnings for the year so far. Around that same time, she also bought a home in the Nashville Whitland neighborhood for her proud parents. However, in August of this year, she put the Whitland home up for sale at $1.45 million and then plunked down another $2.5 million for this Northumberland estate in the Nashville area.
This busy songbird turned real estate mogul attempted to give it one more shot at pleasing her parents with the historic mansion in Northumberland. A home that was constructed back in the 1930s by insurance bigwig, Guilford Dudley Jr.
This new gift for Mommy and Daddy has approximately 600 more square feet than the 5000 square foot Whitland home she’s currently selling. It offers four bedrooms and four and a half baths. The state of the art kitchen has hard wood floors, an island in the middle and chrome everywhere. The design is perfect for any warbling country belle as it’s classic Southern architecture, complete with a formal dining room with a wall of windows and Southern styled French doors that open to a bricked patio. Beyond the patio is the luxurious pool, which separates the main home from the two-story guesthouse, which comes complete with a kitchen and nearly 2000 additional square feet.
The lavish main home and guesthouse are situated on 6 acres of land with plenty of trees and lush gardens with ample vegetation.
While the home is gorgeous, let’s hope Taylor’s parents disposed of some of the ghastly decor when they moved into it. For instance, there’s the cowhide floor covering and depressingly dark wood walls in the den/library that simply has to go!
The other ad nauseum little touch of decor is the Tweedledum/Tweedledee checkerboard flooring that graces the base of the flowing and dramatic spiral staircase. However, the estate grounds are dramatically stunning and befitting any royalty of song and her family. The bedrooms are all elegant, each with a distinct and charming personality.
Finally, anyone that spends much time reading will enjoy more in any one of the breathtaking bathrooms than they would in the depressing library of the home.
