Celebrities do know how to keep those real estate purchases out of the tabloids, don’t they? These new digs for Taye Diggs were bought in early 2010. Who knew?

Taye Diggs purchased a $2 million dollar property in Fryman Canyon almost a year and a half ago, but it seems that the news is just now beginning to hit the front pages of most social media networks.

Now the majority of us ‘working class’ folks would be thrilled to score any type of new residence, let alone a 4900 square foot home with 6 bedrooms and 4 baths. Just think about the parties that you could host in a secluded layout that is more than twice as large as the average American home.

Taye Diggs has become a star of movies, television and live stage presentations and no one could blame him for wanting to buy his own little ‘bit of heaven’ among the scenic hills of Fryman Canyon. Of course this particular home will be shared with his beautiful ‘better half’, actress Idina Menzel. There is also the little 2 year old, ‘mini-Diggs’ who will be exploring these spacious rooms.

Other than the large amount of living space this is a home that easily blends into the background. Stylish? Yes. Over the top? Certainly not.

When purchased by the Diggs family the home sported some ubiquitous frosted doors at the entrance. Inside the modern residence there is a floating staircase, but unfortunately the architect decided that the stairs should greet visitors at the front door. Bet you a doughnut that Taye and Idina have made some major changes on the interior of their new home, beginning with the placement of this awkwardly designed set of stairs.

The foyer is elegant with a double height ceiling and authentic hardwood flooring. There are fireplaces in both the dining room and the living room and the kitchen features a glass ceiling. No ordinary skylight would be considered appropriate for the home a Hollywood star is purchasing.

A family room, home office and outdoor dining terrace are some of the other features that the Diggs family will be enjoying. Naturally there are spectacular views and if the scenery is not enough to keep folks occupied there is a spa and swimming pool nestled into the large backyard.

Some of the neighbors will include such famous celebs as Taylor Swift, George Clooney, Jeff Probst and Teri Hatcher. The Diggs family will continue to stay at their Flatiron, New York home when they are on the East Coast but now they have a West Coast residence to call their own.
